- I am a programmer. Mostly I program in Java, but also a bit other languages like C, Objective-C, Ruby, /bin/sh and so on. Nowadays I spend a fair amount of time on REST integration and asynchronous messaging for our company's software products. My technical blog is called "Let X=X" and it's at http://crazymcphee.net/x/I am a trainee Classical Historian: I have a Master of Arts in Ancient History from University of Queensland, and I'm now a PhD student at the same institution. My research topic is Livy and 1st century B.C. Latin historiographical representation of warfare and my other research interests are in & around representations of the city in Latin poetry & prose, Roman conceptions of boundaries, delineations and frontiers, and how the Romans embodied and exerted both physical and symbolic control of that space. I am a musician. My music (Victor Xray / Retarded Mouse / Discount Adult Zone) is mostly made with synthesisers and computers but I also play the bass guitar. I'm an alumnus of "The Gunnery" in Woolloomooloo. People who were there will know what that means.
